Third Party Integration
Solutions for large scale assessment
Learnosity platforms are designed for easy integration with any 3rd party system, making them an ideal choice for assessment companies and awarding bodies.
The diagram below illustrates a possible integration between the our platform and a 3rd party platform for assessment purposes. This diagram represents only one of the many possible integration methods, we are happy to discuss alternatives.

- Synch Exams: The 3rd party is responsible for creating the exam content. Using the Learnosity authoring platform exam content can either be easily uploaded or created directly on the Learnosity system and then assigned to candidates. Active exams are then sent from Learnosity to the 3rd party assessment engine, identified by a shared UUID.
- Scheduling of Exams: Let's assume that the 3rd party has a system in place to assign and schedule assessments. Since the 3rd party system has a list of exams available, they can schedule these exams in exactly the same way as any other exam. Furthermore, any existing processes of supplying candidates with logons can remain in use.
- Logon Process: Candidates enter the logon information supplied by the 3rd party into the Learnosity system on computer, phone, iPad etc. Any type of logon can be used for example, a user ID and password, an 8 character alpha-numeric key code or 10 digit key code for phone users.
- Single Sign-On Process: Learnosity perform a background API call to the 3rd party system to validate the candidates' credentials.
- 3rd Party Administrative Interface: Since the 3rd party system knows who has logged in to do an assessment, their administrators can have access to all the candidates’ tests. The candidate’s name, the test taken, the date of the test and the status of the exam (marked/unmarked) can all be displayed. The URL query string to view each test on the Learnosity system will include a shared authkey.
- Marking Interface: Assessors will be able to sign on to the marking platform using a single-sign on process. The marking interface, using the full power of the Learnosity rubrics system, can appear as a Learnosity powered i-frame within the existing 3rd party interface.
- Save Results: Once the assessor has finished marking an exam the results are saved into the Learnosity database of marks.
- Send Results: Results are sent to the 3rd party assessing system using API: Learnosity does an XML call to the 3rd party, sending relevant marks for each newly updated test.
