AISV/Learnosity Language Project Kickoff
Learnosity are delighted to be working with the Association of Independent Schools of Victoria for on an innovative project which will improve their students spoken language skills. The project is being funded by the National Asian Languages and Studies in Schools Program (NALSSP) and involves:
- 3 Languages - Chinese, Japanese and Indonesian
- 11 Schools and over 1,000 language students covering years 7-12
How it works:
- Students will use their parents home phones to dial in to Learnosity Voice and will be asked questions in the target language and they respond.
- Teachers review the students responses and provide feedback to the students via the teacher website.
- Students review their feedback and listen and explore the questions and sample answers on the student website.
- Teachers can create their own questions or use items that are already created.
Aims of the project:
- Improve students speaking and listening skills in the target languages of Chinese, Japanese and Indonesian.
- Assist teachers in teaching and assessing students spoken language skills more effectively
- Assess feasibility of larger technology roll-out across AISV schools
Having met the teachers involved in this project at a training session last week I know this project is going be a great success, just like the Learning Federation Project last year.
Regards, Mark
