The National Council for Curriculum & Assessment (NCCA) is devoted to improving the quality of education in Ireland by reforming assessment and curriculum. In 2007, in a scheme initiated by the Irish Minister for Education, Learnosity worked with the NCCA to investigate the use of Information and Communication Technology in the teaching and learning of an Gaeilge (the Irish language). The Mobile Application for Language Learning (MALL) project involved using Learnosity Voice in 13 schools across three Australian states: South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria. The project involved 250 (primarily Year 9 and 10) students learning the Indonesian language. The results found that the students, who took conversation tests at the beginning and end of the project, made significant improvements in their Indonesian language skills. An increase of 11% in the average score was found between pre and post-tests. The improvements in test scores was particularly notable in weaker students. The Open University is the United Kingdom's only university dedicated to distance learning. Since early 2009 The Open University have collaborated with Learnosity, using Learnosity Voice to support mobile learning in a number of language courses. Learnosity has worked closely with the Board of Studies New South Wales (NSW) since 2005. The Board of Studies NSW has a policy of actively exploring many areas of e-assessment. In November 2006, just under 60,000 students sat an online test over three days powered by Learnosity. This mandatory high stakes test has been run successfully each year since 2006.
