These innovative tools have been used effectively in pilot programmes and will be rolled out when they are required as part of a large-scale live client project.
In conjunction with Independent Schools Queensland (ISQ), Learnosity have developed an app for teachers to capture their students’ classroom activities in real time. Learnosity Capture allows teachers to take instant snapshots of student work through a number of mediums; including audio, image and text. Data can then be uploaded to the Learnosity platform for storage and future review. The app is currently in a pilot phase with numerous ISQ teachers. Learn more about Learnosity Capture.
Teachers often ask students to talk together in class but then find it impossible to listen to all of the simultaneous conversations. Learnosity Connect enables student to student moderated, recorded conversation using mobile phones, Skype or computers. Connect was used by the NCCA as part of its multi phase FÓN project. Students use Text Connect on computers, much like they would traditional Internet chat rooms. Text Connect is designed for specifically for students so chat is restricted to within the student group and is fully controlled, moderated and recorded. Teachers can drop stimulus into the conversation such as a YouTube clip or image to spark conversation. Learn more about Learnosity Text Connect.
This messaging tool is great for sending regular updates to students such as Vocabulary of The Day and Daily Quizzes directly to the student's mobile phone. Teachers use an intuitive management module to write the messages and schedule delivery. The NCCA used SMS as part of the FÓN project in Ireland. Learn more about Learnosity Voice SMS.
